Philippines Visa Requirements for Nigerians

1)            Visa Exemptions

Holders of Nigerian passports require a visa for entry into the Philippines. Individuals holding passports issued by certain countries do not require the temporary visit visa to enter the Philippines.

If the applicant will be using a passport other than one is issued by Nigeria, please send an email to the Consular Section ( pe.abuja.consular@gmail.com ) indicating

the name of the applicant, country issuing the passport, purpose of travel, travel dates, and intended duration of stay in the Philippines to determine if a visa will be required.

2)            Duration of the Visa Application Process

The Visa Application Process should not exceed fourteen (14) calendar days from the date the application is received.

The applicant will be notified by email of the results of the INITIAL EVALUATON within seven (7) calendar days from the date of receipt of the application.

If the applicant is approved for FINAL EVALUATION and/or INTERVIEW, the email will also indicate the time and date that the applicant should personally appear at the Embassy.

The applicant will be notified of the results of the FINAL EVALUATION within three (3) working days after the INTERVIEW.

All notifications to the applicant will be done through email. Depending on your email privacy and security settings, emails from

Addresses not included in your contact list may sometimes be diverted to your spam folder.

3)            Personal Appearance

Personal appearance is not required for submission of the visa application and supporting documents. Personal appearance will be required ONLY after the application is approved for FINAL EVALUATION and/or INTERVIEW.

The applicant will be notified by email of the time and date of the INTERVIEW.

4)            Documents Required to Support Visa Applications

Please do your best to submit all the appropriate documents to support your application. Visa applications that are not accompanied by the appropriate supporting documents will be rejected and the applicant will be allowed to apply again only after one (1) month.

The documents required to support visa applications are listed in Consular Guidelines No. TVV-02.

The applicant should prepare the following documents, as indicated in TVV-02:

(1)          Standard Requirements

(2)          Documents Supporting Claim of Purpose of Travel

(3)          Documents Indicating Financial Capacity or Financial Support

Example 1 – an applicant who is a business man traveling to the Philippines and shouldering all expenses himself for purposes of attending a conference should prepare the documents listed under (1) Standard Requirements and the documents listed under 2C and 3B.

Example 2 – an applicant who is traveling to the Philippines to enroll in a university in the Philippines and whose expenses will be shouldered by his father whose income mainly comes from employment should prepare the documents listed under (1) Standard Requirements and the documents listed under 2D and 3A.

If the applicant is unable to comply with any of the requirements, the reasons or justifications may be indicated in a Letter of Application prepared and signed by the applicant.

After INITIAL EVALUATION, the applicant will be notified by email if additional documents are needed to support the application.

Do not include the applicant’s ORIGINAL passport with the documents delivered to the Embassy for INITIAL EVALUATION.

Presentation and submission of the applicant’s ORIGINAL passport will be required during the scheduled INTERVIEW.

5)            Payment of Visa Application Fees

Payment of visa application fees in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Nigerian Naira (NGN 15,500) in cash should be made at the time of delivery and submission of the visa application. Please prepare the exact amount. Visa application fees are not refundable.

6)            Preparation of application and supporting documents

Please ensure that all documents submitted have clear copies. Visa applications that are not prepared properly will be returned and the applicant will be allowed to apply again only after one (1) month.

Documents, including the duly accomplished visa application form, should be placed inside a paper document folder.

One (1) CLEAR COPY of each document being submitted should also be prepared and placed in inside another paper document folder.

The two folders containing the documents should then be placed in a document or catalog envelope.

The phrase “VISA APPLICATION” followed by the name of the applicant, mobile no., and email address in separate lines should be written in BLOCK LETTERS on the top left portion of the envelope, as follows:

7)            Delivery or submission of application and supporting documents

Visa applications and supporting documents may be submitted by the applicant or a person acting on his behalf to the following address:

Visa applications will be received ONLY from 0900 a.m. to 1200 noon on working days.

Applicants who are not residents of Abuja and who are not traveling to Abuja for any other purpose may submit the visa application and supporting documents by courier (DHL) but should make arrangements for someone to pay the visa fees on their behalf.

8)            Actions with adverse effect on visa applications

  1. a) Any attempt by the applicant or persons acting on behalf of the applicant to contact Embassy personnel in person or by phone regarding the visa application.
  2. b) Any attempt by any person to intervene for a favorable result on the visa application.
  3. c) Any offer of gifts or “fees”, tips, or gratuities to Embassy personnel or to security personnel deployed at the Embassy.
  4. d) Employing the services of touts or “agents” to “facilitate” visa applications.
  5. e) Acts of violence, threats, foul language, insulting remarks, rude conduct and similar offense directed against the Philippine government, the Embassy or its personnel, or security personnel deployed at the Embassy.

  1. i need the form formart by PDF sent to my email to be printed out cause i was asked to come along with it when coming to the embassey.

  2. If someone want to invite you from Philippines what’s are the documents the person should prepare and send to take to the embassy thanks
